Tehran has not yet made a final decision regarding a permanent ceasefire agreement with the United States, according to Iran's semi-official news agency, Fars News Agency.
Citing a reliable source familiar with the matter, Fars reported on Sunday that Tehran has not yet decided on a framework agreement to completely end the US-Israeli war against Iran.
According to the report, experts are still reviewing the political, legal, and technical aspects of the 14-point memorandum of understanding. Discussions are ongoing before a decision is reached.
This comes despite US President Donald Trump saying that a permanent ceasefire agreement with Iran is expected to be signed on Sunday.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Saturday local time, Trump said that if the agreement is reached, the strategic waterway of the Strait of Hormuz would open for everyone.
Pakistan, the primary mediator, also hopes the agreement will be finalized within 24 hours. Islamabad has stated that it is preparing for virtual electronic signatures.
