Martínez Under Injury Concern

Emiliano Martínez
With only a few days left before Argentina’s opening World Cup match, fresh concerns have emerged in the Argentine camp over first-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
Having recently recovered from injury, Martínez had received positive results in a medical assessment just a day earlier. He also returned to training wearing gloves. However, during the following session, the Argentine star appeared to experience some discomfort. Martínez initially took part in training normally with gloves on both hands, but after a few minutes, he was seen showing signs of pain. He later removed his gloves and joined fellow goalkeepers in a game of foot tennis.
However, Martínez himself eased some concerns after training. While heading back to the dressing room, he gave journalists a thumbs-up, signalling that everything was fine. The concern stems from his previous injury, when he suffered a crack in the ring finger of his right hand during warm-up before the Europa League final. He had only returned to training with gloves last Thursday following that setback.
The footage from the 15-minute media-open training session has raised some concern among Argentina supporters.
