HSC exams resume in Chattogram after 19-day flood break

HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board, which were suspended due to floods, resumed on Monday.
Initially, the exams are being conducted in alignment with the previous schedule. The examinations that could not be held in Chattogram according to the regular routine will be conducted in phases.
After a 19-day break, nearly 1,00,000 examinees returned to various centers across Chattogram. Continuous heavy rainfall since 5 July caused vast areas of the district to be submerged by floods, while waterlogging plagued the city.
Then HSC exams were halted starting 8 July. On 16 July, the Inter-Education Board declared the examinations suspended indefinitely.
With the improvement of the situation, the exams have commenced once again. However, the Inter-Education Board said a new schedule will be published later for the exams that were already completed in other districts but could not be held in Chattogram due to the floods.
According to the regular routine, the examinations for Civics and Good Governance First Paper, Biology (Theory) First Paper, and Business Organization and Management First Paper are being held across the country, including Chattogram, starting from 10 am.
Similarly, exams are also being held under the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards. Alim examinees from the Madrasa Board are sitting for Islamic History, Physics Second Paper (Theory), and Tajvid Second Paper.
HSC (BMT) examinees under the Technical Education Board are participating in the Human Resource Management-1 subject examination.
A total of 99,688 examinees are participating in the HSC examinations at 114 centers under the Chittagong Education Board.
