Drunk husband hacks pregnant wife to death in India

A man brutally murdered his eight-month pregnant wife with a sickle in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The horrific crime occurred in Bijrari village within the Panwari police station area, where the couple’s two children, aged five and two, stood as helpless witnesses to their mother’s final moments.
Police authorities arrested the accused, Hanif Mansoori, after his five-year-old son provided a traumatised eyewitness account that shattered his father’s attempt to fabricate a cover story.
Officials report that Mansoori’s severe addiction to alcohol and gambling had already led him to sell off most of his land. The violence erupted on Saturday night when he returned home heavily intoxicated and his wife, Manisha, tried to prevent him from consuming more alcohol.
The ensuing heated argument turned deadly when Mansoori seized a sickle and repeatedly struck his pregnant wife, inflicting fatal wounds to her head, hands, and body.
After the killing, Mansoori himself called the police to the scene in a desperate bid to mislead investigators, but Panwari Station House Officer (SHO) Praveen Kumar made the arrest after the son’s testimony exposed the truth during interrogation.
The victim’s family revealed a long history of domestic turmoil, describing Mansoori as suspicious and physically abusive over trivial matters.
Her brother, Naseem Mansoori, shared that although the accused had previously thrown Manisha out of the house on several occasions - sometimes requiring police intervention - she always returned for the sake of her children.
Naseem told, “He brutally murdered my sister using a sickle while intoxicated. My sister got married in 2021, she had two small children and was eight months pregnant. I demand the strictest possible punishment for the accused.”
The accused’s brother-in-law, Shakir, noted that the family’s repeated attempts to reason with Mansoori over the years had proven futile. Even Mansoori’s own father, who claimed his son had evicted him from the family home four years ago, called for the ultimate price for the crime.
“My son has committed a grave crime. He deserves severe punishment for his actions, even if it means the death penalty,” the father said, adding that he intends to raise his grandchildren himself.
Kulpahar Circle Officer Anirudh Singh confirmed that the victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as the police continue their ongoing probe and take strict legal action against the accused.
