Two Chinese Navy warships, Tangshan and Daqing, arrived in Bangladesh on Thursday (September 17) on a five-day goodwill visit.

The ships docked at Chattogram Port on Thursday afternoon, where they were received by the Chief Staff Officer of the Bangladesh Navy's Chattogram Naval Area, alongside naval officers and sailors. A Bangladesh Navy band performed traditional welcome music to mark the occasion.

High-ranking officials from the Chinese Embassy and senior Bangladesh Navy officers were also present at the port. Earlier, as the two warships entered Bangladeshi territorial waters, the Bangladesh Navy Ship BNS Umar Farooq formally welcomed them.

According to a press release, a delegation including the commanding officers of the visiting ships and the Chinese Military Attaché to Bangladesh will pay courtesy calls on the Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area and the Chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority.

During their stay, the officers and sailors of the Chinese ships will visit Bangladesh Navy ships, naval bases, and historical and sightseeing locations across Chattogram.

The ships are scheduled to depart Bangladeshi territorial waters on September 21 upon completion of their goodwill visit.
