Storms possible in five regions, thunderstorms forecast in Dhaka

The weather office has forecast storms in five regions of the country by noon today. Thunderstorms may also occur in the capital Dhaka, according to the forecast.

The weather forecast issued for Dhaka and its adjoining areas for the six hours from 7:00 am today, Thursday, said the sky over Dhaka may remain partly cloudy to cloudy. Rain or thunderstorms may occur during this period, according to the forecast.

During this time, winds may blow from the south or southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. The day’s temperature may fall slightly.

The temperature in Dhaka was 28.5 degrees Celsius at 6:00 am today. The humidity was 86 percent at that time. The highest temperature recorded in the capital yesterday was 36 degrees Celsius.

The weather forecast issued for the country’s inland river ports from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday said temporary gusty or stormy winds with rain or thunderstorms may occur over Rangpur, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh and Sylhet. Winds may blow from the south or southeast at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.

The river ports in these areas have been advised to display warning signal No. 1.
