Southeast Bank reports 64% surge in half-year earnings; Crystal Insurance Up 9%

Listed financial institutions Southeast Bank PLC and Crystal Insurance Company Limited registered growth in Earnings Per Share (EPS) for the first half (January–June 2026) of the current financial year, according to data from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Southeast Bank PLC
Southeast Bank saw its H1 EPS jump by 64%, reaching Tk 1.64 compared to Tk 1.00 recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Q2 Performance (April–June 2026): EPS rose to Tk 0.65, up 10% (Tk 0.06) from Tk 0.59 in the same period last year.
Net Asset Value (NAVPS): Stood at Tk 27.16 as of June 30, 2026.
The Bank management attributed the profit surge to higher investment returns and reduced provisioning against loans and advances. Additionally, Net Operating Cash Flow Per Share (NOCFPS) improved due to increased loans and deposits from other banks and customers.
Crystal Insurance Company Limited
The non-life insurer reported a 9% increase in its half-year earnings, with H1 EPS reaching Tk 1.94, compared to Tk 1.78 in the same period last year.
Q2 Performance (April–June 2026): EPS dipped slightly by 4% (Tk 0.03) to Tk 0.81, down from Tk 0.84 in Q2 of the previous year.
Net Asset Value (NAVPS): Stood at Tk 28.47 as of June 30, 2026.
