BMD warns of gusty winds, rain in 17 regions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said Dhaka may experience thunderstorms by noon, while a storm system could lash 17 regions across the country with wind speeds reaching 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.
BMD confirmed the matter in its six-hour forecast starting at 7 am Wednesday and added that the sky may remain partially cloudy, with rain or thunderstorms likely. Southern or southeasterly winds will blow at speeds of 10 to 15 km/h, while daytime temperatures are expected to stay consistent.
At 6 am, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 26.7 degrees Celsius with humidity at 90 percent. The minimum temperature recorded was 26.5 degrees Celsius.
Moreover, the internal river port forecast effective from 5 am to 1 pm covers Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.
These regions may face temporary rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds from the south or southeast at 45 to 60 km/h. BMD has instructed river ports in these zones to display cautionary signal number 1.
The weather forecast said between 6 pm Tuesday and 6 pm Wednesday, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds will occur in most parts of the Barisal and Chattogram divisions, along with many areas in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions.
Some locations in Barisal and Chattogram could experience moderate to very heavy rainfall and day and night temperatures across the nation will remain mostly unchanged.
