Dhaka Market Update: Potatoes Tk 25, Fish Starts at Tk 250

Potatoes are selling for only Tk 25 per kg in Dhaka’s kitchen markets. Along with other vegetables, pointed gourd and okra are available within Tk 50, while the fish market generally starts from Tk 250.
Market visits to Karwan Bazar, Azimpur, and Mohakhali kitchen markets revealed the pricing trend. Pointed gourd and okra is selling for Tk 40 per kg. Green chilies are priced at Tk 100-150 per kg, and cucumbers are selling for Tk 80.
Moreover, papaya and sweet pumpkin are selling for Tk 30-40 per kg, spinach for 40 , and local onions for Tk 40-50 per kg. Each bottle gourd costs Tk 40-50. In the spice market, garlic is selling for Tk 70-100 per kg.
In the fish market, Rui is selling for Tk 250-280 per kg, Katla for Tk 240-250, and Vetki for Tk 400-450. Based on size, Pabda sells for Tk 350-400, Taki for Tk 220-250, and Tengra for Tk 600-700 per kg. Tilapia and Pangas sell for Tk 180-200, Rupchanda for Tk 400-500, and small shrimp for Tk 650-800 per kg.
Meanwhile, in the poultry market, broiler chicken is selling for Tk 160-170 per kg. Sonali chicken is priced at Tk 270-280 per kg, and Layer chicken is selling for Tk 280-300 per kg.
