FIU celebrates 13th founding anniversary

Far East International University (FIU) celebrated its 13th founding anniversary with various programs in a festive atmosphere. The daylong programs were held at the university’s permanent campus on Tuesday, September 15.
The anniversary celebrations formally began in the morning with the FIU Marathon 2026. Later, when invited guests arrived on campus, the national flag was hoisted and the national anthem was performed. Patriotic songs were then performed, followed by a cake cutting ceremony.
The second part of the anniversary program was held at the university’s Sheikh Kabir Hossain Seminar Hall. A discussion and prayer session were held there. A documentary on the university was screened and prizes were distributed among the winners of the FIU Marathon 2026.
The discussion was chaired by Dr. Md. Munzur E Khoda Torofder, Acting Vice Chancellor of the university. Mohammad Yunus, Acting Chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees, was the chief guest.
Members of the Board of Trustees, Far East Social Foundation, Syndicate and Academic Council were present at the event. Teachers, students, officials, employees and invited guests also attended.
The discussion focused on the university’s education, research, human resource development and future progress. Speakers emphasized strengthening the university’s role in expanding higher education, developing skilled human resources and providing students with education suited to the needs of the times.
A prayer session was later held seeking the overall wellbeing, prosperity and continued success of the university. After the prayer, lunch was arranged for the guests, teachers, students and others concerned.
The anniversary cultural program began at 2:30 pm. Teachers, students, officials and employees of the university took part in the program. Various performances made the event lively.
It may be noted that Far East International University received government approval on September 15, 2013. Since its establishment, the university has been working to expand higher education, develop skilled human resources and provide students with education suited to the needs of the times. Over its 13-year journey, FIU has continued to make progress through consistent success in academic and extracurricular activities.
