Since construction work related to nuclear power plants began in Bangladesh, a visually striking image has circulated on social media claiming to be real. However, verification shows that the image was generated using artificial intelligence (AI).
The image, widely shared on Facebook and other platforms, depicts a nuclear power plant with unusual colors and lighting. Although it appears realistic at first glance, closer analysis has revealed multiple inconsistencies.
Agamir Somoy initially raised doubts about the viral image due to its unnatural colors, lighting, and highly polished structure. Later analysis using various AI detection tools indicated that the image is likely AI-generated or digitally created.
According to Agamir Somoy, the analysis found that the purple-pink tint in the sky and smoke, exaggerated reflections in the water, and unusually smooth structures do not match characteristics of real photographs. These features are commonly found in AI-generated images.
The same image has also been used by the daily Ittefaq, labeled as a ‘collected image’, raising questions about its verification before publication.
Experts say that such perfect structure, unnatural lighting effects, and artistic composition are typical features of AI-generated visuals.
Therefore, both visual analysis and AI detection tools indicate that the viral image is not real. Experts warn that using such images without verification can spread misinformation.
