Changes in key positions including RAB, DMP, PBI, and CID

Seventeen senior police officers have been transferred and assigned to new duties. The reshuffle has been made in key positions including RAB, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Special Branch (SB), Armed Police Battalion (APBN), and Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RMP).
The orders for these transfers and postings were issued today (Tuesday) through three separate notifications signed by Tousif Ahmed, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to one notification, PBI's DIG Md. Humayun Kabir has been transferred to the post of Additional Director General (DIG) of RAB. Additional DIG of Police Staff College Md. Humayun Kabir has been transferred to Police Headquarters.
Railway Police's Additional DIG Md. Tofayel Ahmed Miah has been made Joint Police Commissioner of DMP. APBN's Police Superintendent Nazmul Alam has been transferred to DMP. SB's Additional Police Superintendent Md. Rezaul Karim has been attached to APBN and Specialized Training Center in Khagrachhari.
In another notification, SB's DIG Mu. Mahbubur Rashid has been appointed as Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (DIG rank). DMP's Deputy Police Commissioner Aslam Uddin has been transferred as Police Superintendent to Police Headquarters.
Additionally, Noakhali Police Training Center's Additional Police Superintendent Mohammad Nurul Amin has been attached to the APBN and Specialized Training Center in Khagrachhari.
The same notification has canceled the transfer order of DMP's Joint Police Commissioner Mohammad Kamruzzaman, issued on December 11, 2025, transferring him as Additional DIG to Police Headquarters. Alongside, the transfer order of DMP's Deputy Police Commissioner Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami, issued on May 5, transferring him as Police Superintendent of Narail, has also been canceled.
In another notification, nine officers of Police Superintendent rank have been transferred to various units. APBN's Police Superintendent Md. Shahadat Hossain has been made Police Superintendent of PBI, SB's Special Police Superintendent M.K.H. Jahangir Hossain has been made Police Superintendent of PBI, and RMP's Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Abdur Rahman has been made Police Superintendent of PBI.
PBI's Police Superintendent Md. Jafar Hossain has been transferred to CID. PBI's Police Superintendent Md. Abul Kalam Azad has been transferred to Gazipur In-Service Training Center.
Commandant of Gazipur In-Service Training Center S.M. Sirajul Huda has been made Commandant of Jhenaidah In-Service Training Center. PBI's Police Superintendent Muhammad Khaled-Uz-Zaman has been transferred to CID, and PBI's Police Superintendent S.M. Rafiqul Islam has been transferred to APBN.
Additionally, Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Riazul Kabir has been attached to the office of the DIG of Rangpur Range.
