People will resist troublemakers: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that ordinary people are suffering due to attempts by some individuals to create chaos on the streets. He warned that the people will resist the disruptors with all their might.

The Prime Minister made these remarks on Sunday afternoon while addressing his first rally in Pakundia upon arriving in Kishoreganj. Upon reaching Pakundia, he released fish fry into the Brahmaputra River at the Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat. Later, as he got on the stage at the rally venue as thousands of leaders and activists greeted him with applause.

During the event, the Prime Minister called upon the public to maintain their trust in the BNP government for the country's development. He said, "The government has been formed with the support of the people. With this support, you placed your trust in the BNP. I want to make it clear—inshallah, keep that trust intact. The BNP was with you, the BNP stands beside the people of Bangladesh, and the BNP will remain with the people of Bangladesh."

Tarique Rahman also said that as long as the BNP survives, it will not engage in any activity outside the interests of the country and its people.

Regarding the unrest on the streets, the Prime Minister said, "If chaos is created on the streets, the common people suffer the most. Their businesses are harmed, their jobs are affected, and their livelihoods are disrupted. But those disruptors are the ones who benefit."

"Today, let us take an oath and pledge together that the people will resist with all their strength those who act against the nation's interests, those who create disorder, and those who obstruct various programs taken for the public welfare. The people of this country now want peace, they want the rule of law, they want employment, they want education for their children, and they want healthcare for their families. If we are to achieve these things, we must be patient. At the same time, we must remain vigilant against those who are creating chaos," he added.

The head of government pointed out that the administration's goal is to build a welfare state. "Our objective is to establish a welfare state in the future, and for that reason, we are taking various steps. We have launched multiple programs, including family cards, which I have outlined before you."

"Here, thousands of you have expressed your support, saying that if these plans are implemented, the people of Bangladesh will benefit. Keep your trust in the support you gave during the February 12 election," urged Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

After concluding his programs in Pakundia, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the Kotiyadi Card Hatchery Complex. From there, he is expected to officially inaugurate the National Fisheries Week 2026 and distribute National Fisheries Awards at the Achmita George Institute ground in the afternoon.

Additionally, the Prime Minister has plans for tree planting at Solakia Maidan and distribution of family cards at the Kishoreganj Stadium.
