Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain said that although the license for Ad-din Hospital in Moghbazar has been cancelled but there is no obstacle to its other branches continuing their operations.
He made these remarks on Tuesday during the inauguration ceremony of the Measles Treatment Protocol Clinical Management Guideline at Holy Family Red Crescent Hospital.
Sakhawat added, “Not only pathology, but the license for Moghbazar Ad-din Hospital has been cancelled.”
He said, “We cancelled the license. I believe I have made no mistake. It cannot be that six children are allowed to die due to negligence while the authorities remain at peace.”
Sakhawat added that establishing accountability and discipline in the country’s healthcare services is essential. He stressed that if a patient dies due to the negligence of any hospital or healthcare institution, the authorities cannot overlook it. Change must come to the country’s healthcare system, and that change must start from within ourselves.
Addressing the doctors at the event, he noted that medicine is a humanitarian and noble profession. Quality healthcare cannot be ensured without responsibility, empathy, and ethics towards patients.
Health Minister urged doctors to listen to patients’ concerns attentively and to maintain a compassionate approach.
