President Donald Trump announced that United States and Iran has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) electronically on Tuesday.
US officials told Reuters and AFP that Trump and Vice President JD Vance signed the historic agreement on behalf of the United States, while Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf signed on behalf of Iran.
However, Iran has not yet made any official comment regarding this matter.
Earlier, in a post on the social media platform X, Ghalibaf wrote that Iran has taken a major step towards ultimate victory after resistance against the United States and Israel.
Meanwhile, while attending the G7 summit held in France, Trump informed reporters that Vance will travel to Switzerland to attend the formal signing ceremony scheduled for next Friday.
He added that the original text of the agreement would be made public very soon.
