Students in Bogura are staging protests demanding that HSC exams be suspended until the country's overall natural calamitic situation returns to normal. They are also demanding the resignation of the Education Minister.
Today, Tuesday, around 10 AM, students from various colleges gathered at the Satmatha area in the city and blocked roads, causing traffic jams. Later, around 11 AM, the students took out a procession from Satmatha and staged a sit-in at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's office. As of the last update around 1 PM, students were still present and protesting there.
The protesting students said they are holding this program with three demands. The demands are: to suspend HSC exams until the disaster situation completely normalizes, to allow re-exams for those who could not take the exams on Monday due to adverse weather, and the resignation of the Education Minister within the next 24 hours.
The students said several of their representatives are discussing these demands with the Deputy Commissioner. They mentioned they would launch a harsher movement if their demands are not met.
Yesterday, Monday, calls for this protest were made on various Facebook pages and groups. Since then, protests have spread to different parts of the country.
