18 schools in Dinajpur Board record zero pass rate

This year's SSC results have painted a disappointing picture for the Dinajpur Education Board. Under this board, which covers eight districts of the Rangpur division, a total of 18 schools had no students passing the examinations.
Out of the worst schools, Thakurgaon district recorded the highest number of zero-pass schools with five. Additionally, Kurigram has four, Rangpur, Panchagarh, and Gaibandha have two each, and Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, and Nilphamari have one each.
The schools with zero pass rates include Kumarpara High School and Ghasipur High School in Pirganj Upazila of Rangpur. In Gaibandha, North Damodarpur Kaghzipara Girls' High School in Sadullapur Upazila and Monoharpur Girls' High School in Palashbari Upazila also saw no students pass.
Other schools on the zero-pass list include Ambarhi Multilateral Girls' High School in Domar Upazila of Nilphamari; Taltala High School and Brahmanpara High School in Rajarhat Upazila of Kurigram; Pathardubi Adarsha Girls' High School in Bhurungamari Upazila and East Kumarpara Adarsha High School in Sadar Upazila of Kurigram.
Also, A.M. Rathbari Girls' High School in Kaliganj Upazila of Lalmonirhat; Golapganj High School in Nawabganj Upazila of Dinajpur; and from Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila – Aksha Adarsha High School, Anbar Dighi High School, Madhabpur Girls' High School, and Towarigaon High School – all recorded zero passes. Rampur Bhaturia Girls' High School in Haripur Upazila of Thakurgaon, and Balramhat Model Girls' High School and Boda Sardarpara Girls' High School in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh are also on this list.
The fact that so many institutions under the Dinajpur Education Board have produced zero passes has raised concern among education circles. According to parents and local education enthusiasts, factors such as the quality of teaching, irregular classes, and a lack of administrative supervision are among the main reasons for this poor performance.
The education board authorities have said that they will investigate these institutions with a 100% failure rate and take necessary action.
Meanwhile, the overall SSC results under the Dinajpur Education Board have also declined this year. Within one year, the board's pass rate has dropped by 8.98 percentage points. This year's pass rate fell to 58.05%, compared to 67.03% last year.
Along with the pass rate, the number of GPA-5 achievers has also decreased this year. At the same time, the number of zero-pass schools has increased.
Regarding the poor results, Professor Elias Ahmed, Chairman of the Dinajpur Education Board, said, "We need to look into the matter to understand why the results have declined. It is not possible to say without reviewing where the problem lies. First, we will analyse the results."
Professor Elias Ahmed added, "This year, results have somewhat declined across all education boards."
