‘RAW’ Chief Parag Jain in Dhaka

Efforts are underway to normalize relations between Delhi and Dhaka. Meanwhile, Parag Jain, chief of India’s external intelligence agency ‘RAW,’ has arrived in Bangladesh on an official visit. He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on an Air India flight yesterday afternoon.
A diplomatic source said Parag Jain is leading a four-member high level delegation during the visit at the invitation of the Bangladeshi authorities. However, neither country has officially disclosed anything about the visit.
Parag Jain serves as secretary of ‘RAW,’ or the Research and Analysis Wing, while also serving as special secretary of the Special Protection Group. Ashwin Mukund Kotnis, Rahul Negi and Shaibal Ray Chowdhury are accompanying him on his visit to Dhaka.
The source also said that Parag Jain visited China before coming to Bangladesh.
