SSC and equivalent examination results have been officially released, showing a decrease in the average pass rate to 62.25 percent.

A total of 1,16,676 students achieved a GPA-5 across the country. Across the nine education boards, the average pass rate stood at 64.05 percent, which is a decrease of 3.99 percent compared to last year’s 68.04 percent. By comparison, the average pass rate in 2025 was 68.45 percent with 1,39,032 students securing a GPA-5.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced the result on Monday at 10 am in the Ministry of Education’s conference room, where the chairmen of all education boards handed over the results to him.

A total of 18,57,344 students filled out the forms for this year’s examinations. Among them, 14,18,398 students appeared under the nine boards, 3,04,286 students sat for the Dakhil exam under the Madrasa Education Board, and 1,34,660 students participated in the SSC (Vocational) exams under the Technical Education Board.

Dhaka Board recorded the highest pass rate at 71.63 percent, followed by the Jashore Board at 66.27 percent, the Cumilla Board at 65.42 percent, and the Rajshahi Board at 63.67 percent, Barisal Board at 60.35 percent, the Chattogram Board at 59.48 percent, the Sylhet Board at 58.33 percent, and the Dinajpur Board at 58.05 percent. The Mymensingh Board recorded the lowest pass rate at 57.39 percent.

Moreover, the pass rate for the Madrasa Board was 55.49 percent, while the Technical Board saw a rate of 58.20 percent.

Boys outnumbered girls in failures in this year’s SSC and equivalent exams, with 3,86,756 boys failing compared to 3,03,852 girls.

Students can access their results online, through their respective educational institutions, or via mobile SMS. Results are available on the official websites eduboardresult.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd.

For SMS inquiries, students must type SSC, followed by a space, the first three letters of their board name, their roll number, and the exam year, then send it to 16140.

For instance, Dhaka Board students should use the format SSC DHA ROLL YEAR, Madrasa Board students should use SSC MAD ROLL YEAR, and Technical Board students should use SSC TEC ROLL YEAR.

Results can also be obtained by sending an SMS to 16222. Each SMS will be charge of Tk 1.39, which includes all taxes.

For Vocational and Dakhil results, the Technical Education Board and Madrasa Education Board have provided specific portals such as result.bteb.gov.bd, bmeb.gov.bd, and ebmeb.gov.bd, where institution-based result sheets and grade-based transcripts can be downloaded.

For those wishing to apply for result re-scrutiny, the application window will be open online on 11-17 August. The specific instructions and guidelines for this process will be announced through notices on the respective education board websites.
