A Supreme Court lawyer filed a writ petition challenging the government’s decision to cancel the licence of Ad-Din Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar, Dhaka.
Advocate Yunus Ali Akanda filed the petition on Monday. However, the hospital’s legal counsel, Mohammad Shishir Manir said that the hospital administration is not involved in this legal challenge.
The government officially revoked the licence of the hospital on 11 June. The decision followed the deaths of six newborn babies in the hospital’s postoperative ward during the early hours of 27 May. The deceased infants were aged between one and three days old.
