No traces of drugs found in accused's dope test 10 days after arrest

Police have conducted a dope test on the two accused in the high-profile quadruple murder case in Rangpur, 10 days after their arrest. The test found no traces of drugs in their bodies.
The information was revealed today (Monday) by Sanatan Chakraborty, spokesperson of Rangpur Metropolitan Police and Deputy Commissioner (DB).
He said, "Due to security reasons, samples were collected from the two accused from the jail gate on Sunday. Later, the tests found no presence of methamphetamine in those samples."
Earlier, on the night of August 22, police recovered the bodies of four members of the same family from their home in the Machhuapara area of Rangpur city. The deceased were retired Rangpur Zilla School teacher Ganapati Chakraborty, his wife, daughter, and son.
Soon after the incident, neighbors Mugdha Das and Siddhartha Das were arrested from the same area.
Later, the deceased Ganapati Chakraborty's elder brother, Gopinath Chakraborty, filed a murder case at Kotwali Police Station as the complainant. The accused have confessed to the murders in their confessional statements recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in court. The case is being investigated by the Police Detective Branch (DB).
