Sergeant Catches Snatcher in Pursuit as Phone Stolen While Boarding Bus

An immediate intervention by the traffic police led to the arrest of a snatcher at the Mirpur-10 intersection in the capital. A snatched mobile phone was also recovered during the incident.
The incident occurred today, Thursday, at around 10:13 AM in front of the Shah Ali Market in the Mirpur-10 area.
It is reported that while on duty under the Traffic Pallabi Zone, Police Sergeant Md. Tuhinur Rahman Tuhin noticed a man quickly fleeing after snatching a mobile phone from a female passenger's bag as she was boarding a bus.
Realizing what was happening, Sergeant Tuhin immediately gave a chase. At one point during the pursuit, the snatcher threw the mobile phone under a bus in an attempt to escape. However, the sergeant ultimately managed to apprehend him.
The victim's mobile phone was subsequently recovered from the scene. The detained individual has been handed over to the Kafrul Police Station for necessary legal action.
Regarding the incident, Mohammad Sanwar Hossain PPM-Bar, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Mirpur Traffic Division, praised Sergeant Tuhinur Rahman for his responsible and courageous role. He also instructed all personnel to remain highly active in public service and crime prevention.
The traffic police stated that alongside managing traffic flow, they are always striving to ensure public safety and take necessary measures to suppress crime. They also sought the cooperation of city residents to build safer roads and a safer city.
