Bangladesh, Spain Discuss Expanding Trade and Investment

Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir held a courtesy meeting with the Spanish Ambassador to Dhaka Gabriel Maria Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru on Thursday.
The meeting took place at the PM’s Tejgaon office on Thursday.
During the session, both parties discussed various issues aimed at strengthening and diversifying the friendly bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Spain.
They placed a particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, renewable energy, infrastructure development, tourism, agriculture, education, technology, and the development of skilled human resources.
Ambassador Sistiaga praised Bangladesh’s ongoing economic advancements, its strategic geographic location, and its investment-friendly climate. He expressed a strong interest in increasing Spanish investment and commercial engagement across manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure, technology, and other high-potential sectors.
Moreover, the two officials discussed the potential for boosting cooperation between the private sectors of both nations.
Humayun said, “Bangladesh has emerged as a stable and promising destination for attracting foreign investment, and the government is committed to ensuring a favorable environment for investors.”
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation on matters of mutual interest. Both officials expressed their shared optimism regarding elevating the Bangladesh-Spain relationship to new heights.
