A small dog named 'Giselle' was trapped under the rubble of an earthquake in Venezuela for five consecutive days. Following a lengthy rescue operation, she was finally pulled out alive. Her reaction immediately after being rescued has now won the hearts of everyone on social media.
In a video circulating on social media, she can be seen being rescued from beneath the collapsed concrete. After being safely pulled out, the dog lay in a rescuer's arms, licking his face and wagging her tail in joy, according to a report by the New York Post.
The report stated that an emotional video recorded on Monday in Caraballeda, La Guaira state, shows a search and rescue team from El Salvador saving the dog.
Last Wednesday evening, two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude struck just 39 seconds apart. The dog had been trapped under the debris ever since.
The video shows that the entire rescue operation took about five hours to complete. After hearing a faint barking sound from beneath the rubble, rescuers carefully removed heavy concrete slabs by hand to avoid the risk of further collapse.
Upon reaching the dog, they first lowered a water bottle through a small gap so that the frightened and exhausted animal could drink some water.
Sharing the video, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele said that after five hours of effort, they managed to rescue the small dog named "Giselle."
He further added that if anyone is the owner of "Giselle," they can approach the relevant team with photos or videos to prove she belongs to them.
