Deaths from measles and symptoms rise to 950

Seven children died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours. However, no one died from confirmed measles during this period. As a result, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country this year has risen to 950.
The Directorate General of Health Services provided the information in a statement on Wednesday. The figures cover the period from 8:00am Tuesday to 8:00 am Wednesday.
The Directorate General of Health Services said 99 people died from confirmed measles while 851 died with measles symptoms.
In the last 24 hours 1,098 people were found to have measles symptoms. This brings the total number of suspected infections to 152,736.
During the same period another 73 people were found to have measles. This brings the total number of confirmed measles cases to 18,651.
From March 15 this year to date a total of 133,573 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them 128,765 have recovered and returned home.
