The US military said it launched a new round of strikes on 10 military targets in Iran on Saturday local time, describing the operation as a response to an Iranian attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strikes were carried out in response to Iran's continued attacks on commercial shipping.
On Friday, Iran attacked a Panama-flagged tanker carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil, according to US officials.
CENTCOM also released a 35-second video on X showing explosions at multiple locations. The footage, recorded from the air, appeared blurred.
In the post, CENTCOM said US Navy and Air Force assets struck 10 Iranian military sites near the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the US military, the targets included surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense installations, and drone storage facilities.
Iranian media reported multiple explosions in the southern regions of Qeshm and Sirik.
The United States also carried out strikes inside Iran on Friday, saying those attacks were retaliation for a separate Iranian assault on another commercial vessel.
The conflict between Iran and the United States began on Feb. 28. Two weeks ago, the presidents of both countries signed a memorandum of understanding, and negotiations aimed at reaching a permanent peace agreement are underway in Switzerland.
Despite those diplomatic efforts, Tehran and Washington have repeatedly accused each other of violating the terms of the memorandum.
