Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr issued a rebuttal to US President Donald Trump’s latest threats.
Zolghadr said that Tehran will not tolerate disrespectful rhetoric and warned that Iran will respond accordingly if provoked.
The tension follows Trump’s Monday remarks in the Oval Office, where he claimed the US would win a war against Iran “one way or the other”.
He added, “We’re either going to make a deal, or we’re going to finish the job. It won’t be tough to finish the job.”
Zolghadr directly challenged Trump’s rhetoric, labeling him “delusional” for threatening 91 million Iranians.
Addressing his comments, Zolghadr said, “To the delusional President of America, who today threatened 91 million Iranians, I say: Previously, as the president of a rootless country with a mere 250-year history, you spoke in similar terms about erasing Iran’s several-thousand-year-old civilization. The only result for you was defeat, helplessness, and desperate pleas for negotiations and ceasefire.”
He added that Iranians remain unmoved by foreign intimidation. He delivered a warning, “Iranians are not familiar with the language of threats. Therefore, speak to the Iranian people with respect; otherwise, we will respond to you in a different language.”
The remarks serve as a clear rejection of Washington’s repeated attempts at intimidation. Iranian officials maintain that the nation and its citizens will never submit to bullying or disrespectful language from the United States.
SNSC chief’s statement underscores a position of confidence rooted in an ancient civilization and an unbreakable national will. Tehran continues to state that any aggressive posturing or arrogance will meet a calculated and appropriate response.
