Saudi Arabia has reiterated its commitment to ending the war in Gaza and establishing an independent Palestinian state during the Oslo Forum 2026.
The Kingdom was represented by Dr. Manal Radwan, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who took part in the forum's main session titled "Mediation in a Turbulent Middle East." The event was organized under the patronage of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the session, Dr. Radwan emphasized that the creation of an independent Palestinian state and the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people remain essential for achieving lasting peace and regional integration.
She highlighted Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to advance these objectives, including the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and the New York Declaration. She described both initiatives as practical frameworks for promoting peace.
Dr. Radwan also underscored the Kingdom's long-standing role in mediation and sustainable peacebuilding.
She pointed out that decades of regional power politics have resulted in heavy humanitarian, political, and economic costs. She stressed that lasting stability cannot be achieved through domination or imposed realities, but rather through a collective security framework built on cooperation, state sovereignty, strong national institutions, and adherence to international law.
Dr. Radwan further noted that while Israel continues to pursue a security doctrine based on military superiority, other regional actors have shown a growing willingness to adopt cooperative security approaches and engage in joint action.
She added that ongoing occupation, along with annexation and settlement policies, undermines efforts to build a sustainable regional security architecture.
In her concluding remarks, Dr. Radwan stated that the humanitarian toll of wars, occupation, and external interference is no longer acceptable. She affirmed that the people of the region deserve a future founded on peace, development, and cooperation.
She reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia will continue to work through its strategic partnerships and its regional and international roles to advance sustainable peace and security.
