The sea remains rough under the influence of a low-pressure system that has formed over the North Bay of Bengal. At the same time, clouds are moving across different parts of the country and intermittent rain is forecast.

On Sunday, August 30, sunshine may be seen through gaps in the clouds in several parts of the country. However, partly cloudy skies may prevail in coastal areas and the northeastern region.

According to a forecast by private weather agency Bangladesh Weather Observation Team Limited, the low-pressure system over the North Bay of Bengal may move farther west and northwest.

As the sea remains rough, a local warning signal No. 3 has already been issued. Under the influence of the low-pressure system, gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour may blow over coastal areas.

Scattered light to moderate rain may occur in different parts of the country today. Sudden and short-lived rainfall may occur in several areas of the Rajshahi, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions.

In addition, some areas of the Khulna and Barishal divisions may experience short lived rain in several spells. There is also a chance of scattered rain elsewhere in the country.

There is currently no active rain belt in the country. However, there is a risk of moderate lightning in the Sylhet division and the Chattogram Hill Tracts when rain begins. People have been advised to remain alert and cautious during lightning to avoid accidents. However, there is no possibility of hail or Kalbaishakhi storms.

Regarding temperatures, daytime temperatures may fall slightly in the southern region. However, uncomfortable muggy heat may persist in the northern region. During breaks in rainfall, humidity may cause muggy conditions across most parts of the country. Nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged or fall slightly.

Earlier, during the 24 hours until 6 PM on August 29, the highest rainfall in the country was recorded in Sreemangal at 51 millimeters. During this period, the highest temperature was recorded in Saidpur at 36.8 degrees Celsius and the lowest temperature was recorded in Sylhet at 24 degrees Celsius.

On August 30, sunrise in Dhaka was at 5:40 am and sunset will be at 6:19 pm.
