UK assures support to Bangladesh in trade and investment

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook said the United Kingdom will support Bangladesh in trade, investment, migration and the Rohingya crisis.
She made the remarks while speaking to reporters after meeting Foreign Affairs State Minister Humayun Kabir at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.
Sarah Cook said, “The strength and breadth of the partnership between the UK and Bangladesh continue to grow stronger and more robust. Our conversation covered a range of shared priorities including trade and investment, cooperation on migration issues, support for the Rohingya crisis and various regional and international issues.”
She added, “And this is possible because the UK and Bangladesh have a longstanding partnership that is built on the deep ties between the people of our two countries, the combination of vibrant trade and investment and close cooperation on regional and global issues.”
Sarah Cook said, “I am delighted to have met the Foreign Affairs State Minister and to have the opportunity to work closely with him. And of course I look forward to working closely with the Government of Bangladesh to further advance our strong partnership and deliver visible and tangible benefits for both countries.”
