Morocco defeated Scotland 1-0 in a Group C match of the FIFA World Cup at Gillette Stadium in Boston. Morocco took the lead just 71 seconds after kickoff when Ismael Saibari found the back of the net.
Controlling a brilliant pass from Brahim Diaz, Saibari broke through the Scottish defense and calmly finished past the goalkeeper. The goal was the fastest of the tournament so far and also the quickest in Morocco’s World Cup history.
The PSV forward was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. It was his second goal of the World Cup.
With the victory, Morocco moved into second place in Group C with four points. Brazil also has four points but remains atop the group on goal difference.
