France secured 2-0 victory against Morocco at Boston Stadium to advance to the FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-finals.
Kylian Mbappe led the charge, overcoming a first-half setback to propel the two-time champions into the final four.
Les Bleus signaled their intent early when Dayot Upamecano directed a fifth-minute header toward Yassine Bounou, who made the save.
France nearly took the lead before halftime after Noussair Mazraoui fouled Mbappe in the penalty area. However, the Moroccan goalkeeper produced a brilliant save to deny the French captain’s spot-kick.
The deadlock finally broke in the 60th minute when Mbappé curled a spectacular shot into the far corner from the edge of the box. Shortly after, the talisman turned playmaker, assisting Ousmane Dembele, who fired a clinical finish into the bottom corner to seal the win.
Didier Deschamps’ side now prepares for its third straight World Cup semi-final, following its 2018 title and 2022 runner-up finish. France will face either Belgium or Spain in the next round.
