Junior Minister hints at forming Bogura division incorporating 5 districts

State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mir Shahe Alam, has hinted at the initiation of discussions regarding the formation of a Bogura Division. He made this announcement during a meeting held on Saturday night at the conference room of the Bogura Deputy Commissioner's office.
The State Minister was the chief guest at the meeting, which was convened to discuss the 'Integrated Development of Bogura District and Bogura City Corporation'.
He stated, "The honorable MPs from four neighboring districts have voluntarily come forward and expressed their support for making Bogura a division. I think it will not be very difficult for the honorable Prime Minister now." He mentioned that along with Bogura, the other four districts to be included in the new division would be Sirajganj, Naogaon, Joypurhat, and Gaibandha.
During the meeting, he also discussed various issues concerning Bogura, including the nationalization of 30 educational institutions, the upgrading of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital to 1,800 beds, and the relocation of NESCO's head office.
The State Minister said, "A coordinated master plan and a committee are being formed for the overall progress of Bogura, including infrastructure, education, health, and urban services. To this end, development projects worth Tk 3,000 crore for the district's infrastructure and Tk 2,000 crore for 12 municipalities are awaiting approval."
The MP from Bogura-2 constituency also urged each Member of Parliament to submit project proposals of Tk 10 crore each for emergency road repairs and renovations in their respective areas during the monsoon season.
Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Taufiqur Rahman, the meeting was also attended by special guest A.B.M. Abdus Sattar, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. Also present were Members of Parliament from Bogura-1 Kazi Rafiqul Islam, Bogura-3 Abdul Mohit Talukder, Bogura-4 Mosharraf Hossain, Bogura-5 Golam Mohammad Siraj, Bogura-6 Rezaul Karim Badsha, Bogura-7 Morshed Milton, and reserved seat MP Suraiya Zerin Roni.
Additionally, the meeting was attended by Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid, the Prime Minister's Protocol Officer-1 Uzzal Hossain, along with senior officials from the district administration, local government division, and various other concerned departments.
