Gold Prices Fall in Domestic Market, Silver Unchanged

Gold prices have declined in the domestic market. The price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,216 per bhori, bringing the new rate to Tk 242,495 per bhori. While gold prices have fallen, silver prices remain unchanged.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the revised prices in a statement on Friday. The new rates came into effect at 10:00 am the same day.
The statement said the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market has decreased, prompting a revision of overall gold prices based on the current situation.
Under the new rates, 22-carat gold is priced at Tk 242,495 per bhori (11.664 grams) in the domestic market.
In addition, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 231,472 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 198,405 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 161,605 per bhori.
Earlier, on May 7, BAJUS last adjusted gold prices in the local market. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was increased by Tk 2,216 per bhori to Tk 244,711.
The rates for 21-carat gold were set at Tk 233,572 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 200,213 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 163,063 per bhori, effective from 10:00 am that day.
Despite the drop in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged in the domestic market. Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk 5,774 per bhori.
Additionally, 21-carat silver is priced at Tk 5,540 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 4,724 per bhori, and traditional silver at Tk 3,558 per bhori.
