Iranian attacks cause nearly $184 million in damage to US facilities in Middle East

Iranian attacks caused extensive damage to US diplomatic facilities in four Gulf countries. A report by the Pentagon Inspector General said the damage to the facilities amounted to nearly $184 million. Iraq suffered the highest damage at more than $157 million.
According to a report published by The Hill, US facilities in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were damaged in Iranian attacks. The report is the first released by the Inspector General's office since the United States and Israel began the war against Iran in late February.
After Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia suffered the most damage. The damage in Kuwait exceeded $14 million while Saudi Arabia suffered about $11.5 million in damage. The estimated damage to US diplomatic facilities in the UAE was $125,000.
The US mission in Iran also came under more than 600 attacks.
Since the launch of “Operation Epic Fury” on February 28, Iranian forces have carried out several attacks on US military bases in the Gulf region. The attacks caused extensive damage to US diplomatic and intelligence facilities.
According to Pentagon estimates, the United States spent about $33.4 billion on the war from February 28 to June 29. However, the cost of repairing the damaged infrastructure was not included in the figure.
In July, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told senators that the estimated cost of the war with Iran had risen to $37.5 billion. However, several experts said the actual cost was even higher.
