The stock markets concluded Tuesday's session with a major rally in indices and turnover across both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE). At the DSE, the benchmark index rose by 93 points to settle at 5,472. The Shariah index gained 16 points to reach 1,093, while the DSE-30 index climbed 24 points to close at 2,087. On the same day, the all-share price index at the CSE advanced by 44 points to stand at 14,598.

Alongside the index gains, both trading volume and the prices of a majority of listed securities posted increases. Out of 394 companies and mutual funds traded on the DSE, 336 advanced, 21 declined, and 37 remained unchanged. Total turnover on the DSE reached 504.86 crore taka, reflecting an increase of 18.31 crore taka compared to the previous session.

At the CSE, out of 181 traded securities, 105 advanced, 61 declined, and 15 remained unchanged, generating a total turnover of 19.20 crore taka.

IPDC Finance PLC topped the turnover chart on the DSE with shares worth 19.46 crore taka traded. The other top-traded companies were Reliance Insurance, Eastern Bank, Sharp Industries, Envoy Textiles, Bangladesh National Insurance, Sayham Textile, Mercantile Islami Insurance, Malek Spinning, and Paramount Textile.

Al-Haj Textile Mills Limited was the top gainer on the day, registering a price increase of 9.97 percent. Other major gainers included Orion Infusion, Samorita Hospital, Samata Leather, Sikder Insurance, Sonargaon Textile, K & Q, Agrani Insurance, Paramount Insurance, and Nahi Aluminum.

Conversely, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC led the losers' chart with a decline of 3.82 percent in its share price. The top decliners also included PHP First Mutual Fund, Popular Life First Mutual Fund, Zahintex Industries, Bay Leasing, Islami Bank Bangladesh, Suhrid Industries, Uttara Finance, Renwick Jajneswar, and Meghna Cement Mills PLC.
