Md. Sarwar Hossain has been appointed as the new Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank.
Before his appointment, Sarwar Hossain was serving as an Executive Director of the central bank.
He has been appointed for a three-year term on the condition that he voluntarily retires from his current position and suspends his post-retirement leave (PRL).
The Financial Institutions Division under the Ministry of Finance issued a notification regarding the appointment on Tuesday.
According to the notification, the remaining terms and conditions of his appointment will be determined through a formal contract. The order has taken immediate effect in the public interest.
