Gold Prices Drop Further; Silver Remains Unchanged

Gold prices in the domestic market have been cut once again. According to the latest decision by the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS), the price of 22-carat gold has been slashed by Tk2,157 per bhori (11.664 gram). This new pricing came into effect at 10:00 AM on Thursday (April 30).
The decision was finalized during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Thursday morning.
As per the new rates, the market price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk240,337 per bhori, down from the previous price of Tk242,494. Additionally, the price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk2,041, bringing it to Tk229,431 per bhori.
For 18-carat gold, the price has dropped by 1,849 BDT to a new rate of Tk196,655 per bhori. Meanwhile, the price of gold sold through the traditional method has decreased by Tk1,457, set at Tk160,147 per bhori.
While gold prices have seen a decline, silver prices remain unchanged. In the current market, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk5,482 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk5,190, and 18-carat at Tk4,490. The price for silver sold via the traditional method remains at Tk3,382 per bhori.
Previously, on April 29, gold prices were also reduced. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was lowered by Tk2,213, setting it at Tk242,494 per bhori.
