NCP Files Case Over Savar Rally Cocktail Bomb Attack

National Citizen Party (NCP) filed a case at the Savar Model Police Station following the explosion at its July March-2026 rally.
OC Noor Mohammad confirmed the matter on Tuesday morning. NCP’s Dhaka District North Member Secretary Salamat Ullah initiated the move, naming unidentified suspects.
Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (SP) Shamima Parveen established a three-member investigation committee to look into the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jahangir Alam is leading the probe.
The explosion occurred around 9:45 pm on Monday at the Savar Thana Stand Eidgah field. NCP Central Member Yasir Arafat confirmed the explosion, saying that miscreants targeted the venue while Dhaka District NCP Convener Nabila Tasnid was addressing the crowd.
Several leaders were present on the stage during the blast, including NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, and Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam.
Following the attack, NCP leaders and activists staged a protest in front of the Savar Model Police Station.
