National Citizen Party’s (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary pleaded with the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to restore the sight of the teenager boy whose eye was damaged during an attack on July March in Habiganj.
In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, Nasiruddin wrote, “The boy in the tenth grade who was hit in the eye has surgery tomorrow at 10 am. He still believes that after the operation, he will be able to see the world again. However, the doctor has said one of his eyes will never return.”
He said, “His eye has been taken away. Prime Minister, please return his eye. Run your power however you wish - we will remain silent, but return the lost eye of an innocent child.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Alif Chowdhury, 19, an organizer for the Jatiya Chatra Shakti’s Nabiganj Upazila committee, sustained the eye injury on July March program.
NCP alleged that Chatradal activists struck Alif directly in the eye with a rod. Doctors fear that his vision has been permanently damaged.
