Madrasas use study guides question papers, answers too available on youtube in advance

In various Dakhil madrasas in Rajbari district, examinations are being conducted using question papers supplied by guidebook publishing companies. These question papers, along with their answers, are being found on YouTube and other social media platforms even before the exams begin.
This matter has come to light during an investigation into allegations of question paper leaks. It has been found that at least 25 madrasas in the district are using question papers from the same guide company, and students are obtaining the papers well in advance of the tests.
The district has 48 Dakhil madrasas. Information reveals that at least 25 of them have held exams using question papers from the Al Fatah guide company. Another 12 madrasas have used papers supplied by Lecture Publications.
An investigation by Agamir Somoy has found that the majority of Dakhil madrasas do not prepare their own question papers. Instead, they rely on commercial guide publishers such as Al Fatah, Lecture, Panjeree, and others. As a result, multiple institutions are conducting exams with the exact same question papers.
Taking advantage of this situation, several YouTube channels—including Rabiul EduCare and NR Update BDC—are publishing question papers and answers before the scheduled exam dates. One such channel has nearly half a million subscribers. In the comments section of these videos, students can be seen requesting that questions for upcoming exams be released as well.
A comparison was made between the timing of video uploads on these channels and the exam routines for the 2026 Dakhil tenth-grade pre-selection tests and various madrasas' half-yearly examinations. Among the institutions using Al Fatah's question papers—at least 25 madrasas—the papers were uploaded before the corresponding exams.
The investigation reveals that the ninth-grade mathematics exam was held on 5 July. However, the first page of the question paper was uploaded on YouTube on 19 June, and the second page on 20 June—meaning the questions reached students roughly 15 to 16 days prior to the exam. Similarly, the ninth-grade Quran Majid and Tajwid exam was scheduled for 29 June, but the questions and answers were published on 26 June. For English first paper, the exam date was 9 July, but the questions and answers were released one day earlier. For English second paper, the questions appeared two days before the exam.
For the tenth-grade English first paper exam held on 5 July, the question paper with answers was found on YouTube on 2 July—three days in advance. The seventh-grade Bengali first paper exam was on 30 June, but the questions were published a day earlier, on 29 June.
The English first paper exam for another grade (likely eighth) took place on 5 July, but the questions were published on 1 July. The English second paper exam was on 6 July, and the questions were released on 3 July—three days early. For eighth-grade English second paper, the exam was held on 9 July, yet the questions were published as early as 23 June—16 days before the test. For the science exam, the questions with answers were released on 12 July, the day before the actual exam on 13 July.
Similar complaints found in 12 madrasas in Baliakandi Upazila
Similar allegations have emerged in 12 madrasas in Baliakandi Upazila. According to the exam routine signed by Upazila Secondary Education Officer Permis Sultana and exam committee president Muradul Islam, the examinations were scheduled to be held from 1 to 16 July. However, question papers for various subjects were uploaded on the YouTube channel Rabiul's EduCare anywhere from three to 19 days in advance.
Students have confirmed that the question papers they received in the exam halls were an exact match to the ones previously published on YouTube. Speaking on condition of anonymity, several students stated that they had prepared for their exams based on the questions they found on YouTube.
Several teachers, also unwilling to be named, said that while they personally wanted to take the initiative to prepare their own question papers for their respective institutions, they were unable to do so due to decisions made by the madrasa association. They claimed that a syndicate has left them helpless in this regard.
Baliakandi Upazila Secondary Education Officer Permis Sultana told Agamir Samay, "According to the rules, each institution is supposed to prepare its own question papers. However, many institutions are using question papers from guide companies, which is a serious irregularity."
She added that the situation becomes even more alarming when the questions are uploaded on YouTube before the exams, and urged the concerned authorities to take effective action on this matter.
Muradul Islam, president of the Baliakandi Upazila Madrasa Teachers and Employees Welfare Association, told Agamir Samay, "Every institution prepares its own questions according to the syllabus." He denied the allegations of purchasing question papers from guide companies.
Md. Abdul Majid, Rajbari District Secondary Education Officer, told Agamir Samay that the government is spending a huge amount of money on teacher training. "If, despite this, exams are being conducted using question papers supplied by guide companies, and those papers are being published on YouTube beforehand, then we will certainly investigate and take necessary action," he said.
District Commissioner Afroza Parveen also stated that if the allegations are proven to be true, an investigation will be conducted and appropriate measures will be taken.
