The Prime Minister's Education Adviser, Mahdi Amin, has announced plans to introduce two new subjects each in Class IV and Class VI starting from the upcoming academic year.
He said, "There is a plan to include two new subjects, 'Sports' and 'Culture,' at the primary level in Class Four starting from the next academic year. Concurrently, initiatives are being taken to introduce two more new subjects from Class Six: 'Learning with Happiness' and 'Technical and Vocational Education.'"
He made these remarks today, Thursday, during a press conference held at the conference room of the Ministry of Education in the Secretariat.
According to Mahdi Amin, the government has an extensive action plan aimed at transforming the education system from being solely certificate-oriented into one based on moral values, social skills, creativity, sports, culture, and job-oriented skills.
The government's goal is to establish an education system where equality, fairness, and the equal distribution of opportunities are guaranteed. He added that the existing disparity between urban and rural education will be minimized to ensure the same quality of education for every child in the country.
The Prime Minister's Education Adviser further noted the need to foster civic values, social responsibility, morality, family values, and discipline among students. To achieve this, importance is being given to co-curricular activities, including the Girls Guide, BNCC, and Rover Scouts, across the country's schools, colleges, and universities.
He mentioned that nation-wide sports, culture, debate, science fairs, entrepreneurship development, innovation, and various competitive activities have been launched to develop students' creativity and leadership qualities. Through these initiatives, students' capacity to face real-life challenges is being enhanced.
