Bomb-like object found in Savar

A bomb-like object and a Quran were found inside a drum in Bongaon Union, Savar on Wednesday.
Imran Hossain, the in-charge of the Bhawanipur Police Outpost under Savar Model Police Station, confirmed the matter to Agamir Somoy.
Upon receiving the news, a team from the Bomb Disposal Unit has departed from Dhaka to deactivate the device.
In-Charge Imran said locals saw three unidentified individuals left a blue drum in the field on Tuesday night. In the morning, locals opened the drum and discovered a Quran, a pressure cooker that looked like bomb, and some clothes inside. They called the police after seeing the suspicious object.
He added that police arrived at the scene and secured the site. The Bomb Disposal Unit will conduct an inspection to determine the nature of the object and confirm if it is a live explosive.
