BGB seizes smuggled goods worth Tk 2.02 billion along border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized various types of smuggled goods worth Tk 2.02 billion during anti smuggling and anti drug operations along the border in July. The seized goods included large quantities of drugs, weapons, gold, clothing, cosmetics and other products.

BGB Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam said this in a press release signed by him on Tuesday.

According to the press release, the seized goods included 4 kilograms and 254 grams of gold, 216 diamond nose pins, 7 kilograms and 930 grams of silver, 13,063 sarees, 2,710 three piece sets, shirt pieces, bed sheets and blankets, 8,886 ready made garments, and 302,394 cosmetic items.

In addition, BGB seized 864,356 fireworks, 1,751 cubic feet of wood, 221,090 kilograms of coal, 6,446 kilograms of tea leaves, 624 mobile phones, 4,360 mobile displays, and 36,170 mobile phone parts.
