US Envoy to India Sergio Gor and Ajit Doval hold two consecutive meetings

Within ten days of into visit to Bangladesh, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor held meetings with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on two consecutive days. This information was reported today (Tuesday) by the Indian media outlet Firstpost, citing India's Ministry of External Affairs.
At a press conference today, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Gor and Doval held two "productive" meetings. The two officials met on back-to-back days.
The South Block spokesperson said that the partnership between India and the US is important in addressing global security challenges. Both countries share many common goals across various sectors, and bilateral relations and communication between the two nations are steadily increasing.
It was reported that in the meetings, both countries emphasized continuing to work in unison to achieve common objectives and enhance diplomatic engagement.
In a post on the micro-blogging site X, Gor also confirmed the meetings, stating that he had "productive" discussions with Doval. He mentioned that they discussed US-India strategic cooperation.
Indian media outlets say that it is fairly routine for senior Indian officials to meet with diplomats in the country. However, in Gor's case, the matter carries particular significance because he holds a status beyond that of a typical ambassador. He also serves as US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for South and Central Asia.
Gor had visited Bangladesh from July 30 to August 1.
