Dinesh Trivedi meets Narendra Modi after Dhaka meetings

Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi held meetings with Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed in Dhaka on Sunday and Monday. He later arrived in India yesterday. After reaching Delhi, Trivedi met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
Following more than three important meetings with the prime minister, foreign minister and home minister, Trivedi briefed Modi on the messages he brought from Dhaka. Citing a diplomatic source in Delhi, news agency UNB reported, “Dinesh Trivedi met Narendra Modi today (Tuesday). They discussed Bangladesh India relations.”
As part of ongoing efforts to advance bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries, the Indian high commissioner traveled to Delhi on Monday after completing three meetings in Dhaka. He had earlier met Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman at the state guesthouse Padma on Sunday. On Monday, he held separate meetings with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed at the Secretariat.
During his meeting with the prime minister, Dinesh Trivedi conveyed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings to Tarique Rahman. He also expressed India’s intention to work with the Bangladesh government and people from a positive, constructive and forward looking perspective.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest. In his meeting with Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, they discussed security cooperation between the two countries, various issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The high commissioner said India is fully prepared to further strengthen people oriented cooperation in all areas based on mutual interests, mutual benefits and sensitivity toward each other.
