Cocktail Bomb Attack on NCP Rally in Savar, 3 Hurt

Miscreants threw cocktail bombs at a National Citizen Party’s (NCP) July March-2026 rally in Savar, injuring three attendees.
Savar Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Noor Mohammad confirmed the matter. The incident occurred around 9:45 pm on Monday at Eidgah field.
The injured have been identified as Md Shahin Khandakar, 30, Md Jasim, 26, and Md Shahadat Hossain 40. They are receiving treatment at Enam Medical College Hospital.
NCP central member Yasir Arafat confirmed the explosion, saying that miscreants targeted the venue while Dhaka District NCP Convener Nabila Tasnid was addressing the crowd.
Several leaders were present on the stage during the blast, including NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, and Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam.
Following the attack, NCP leaders and supporters gathered in front of Savar Model Police Station to protest the incident.
OC Noor said, “We are at the scene. The explosion is being investigated. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved.”
The rally was part of the NCP’s nationwide July March-2026 program, which demands the implementation of referendums, job creation, and border security. The party launched the initiative on Monday in Savar, marking the start of a campaign intended to cover 100 sub-districts and municipalities across 64 districts.
