Tarique Seeks Deeper Industrial Partnership with China

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that Bangladesh is open for business, ready for the future, and eager to establish a deeper industrial partnership with China.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the “Bangladesh Investment Forum” in Beijing, he urged Chinese companies to expand their value chains into Bangladesh.
The conference, held at the Diaoyutai Hotel at 10:30 am local time on Thursday, was organized by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). BIDA Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury delivered a special presentation on investment opportunities to an audience of 125 Chinese business leaders.
During his keynote address, Tarique revealed that the government is implementing a 180-day action plan to modernize international capital procedures. This initiative aims to cut bureaucratic red tape, digitize government services, ensure policy consistency, and foster a pro-investment climate.
Regarding specific projects, he highlighted the development of the Chinese Economic and Industrial Zone in Anwara and a second economic zone in Mongla. He also announced that Bangladesh will soon launch its first “Investment Office” in China to provide more efficient services to Chinese investors.
Several high-ranking officials attended the meeting, including Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, and Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir.
Also present were State Ministers M Rashiduzzaman Millat and Aninda Islam Amit, Spokesperson Mahdi Amin, Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon, CPC Vice Minister Sun Haiyan, and the Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka.
