Brazil dominated Scotland with a 3-0 victory at Miami Stadium, cruising into the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32.
The five-time champions now prepare for a Houston showdown on 29 June against the Group F runners-up. Scotland remains in third place, their hope of reaching the knockouts for the first time hanging by a thread.
Vinicius Junior spearheaded the attack, scoring twice in the first half. He capitalized on a seventh-minute error by defender Scott McKenna, who struggled under pressure from Rayan.
Although VAR overturned a second strike due to a foul on Jack Hendry, Vinicius Junior eventually doubled the lead in stoppage time by nodding in a Bruno Guimaraes cross.
The Brazilian momentum continued after the break as Matheus Cunha drilled home a third goal in the 60th minute following a setup by Guimaraes.
Despite Angus Gunn’s heroic saves and late attempts from Scott McTominay, Alisson Becker secured a clean sheet. The Miami crowd erupted when Neymar Jr entered as a late substitute, marking his fourth successive World Cup appearance.
