Yasir Ali justified his inclusion in the squad. The rest were busy coming and going at the crease. Producing yet another example of batting failure, Bangladesh began their T20I campaign in Zimbabwe with an embarrassing defeat as well. Chasing a target of 171, Bangladesh were bowled out for 138, losing by 32 runs.
Throughout the ongoing tour, Bangladesh’s batters have written a story of batting failures. Apart from the pressure-free third ODI, there has been nothing pleasant. Continuing that trend, they produced another embarrassing batting collapse. Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani claimed four wickets each as Zimbabwe secured an easy victory.
Returning to the team for the first time since 2023, Yasir Rabbi scored a half-century with the bat. It was his first fifty in this format. He made 54 off 38 balls, hitting three sixes and two fours. No other batter managed even 20 runs.
A lack of partnerships and the absence of a substantial innings meant Bangladesh started heading toward defeat from the fourth over of the innings. Sheikh Mehedi Hasan scored 19, Tanzid Tamim made 16, Saif Hasan added 12, and Towhid Hridoy scored 14. Bangladesh now trail 1-0 and face the prospect of yet another series defeat.
